About Us
We started People First News because the most interesting part of any story is usually the part nobody covers — the people around the headline. Not the famous face, but everyone else. The family, the investigators, the neighbors, the people whose names you'd never know unless someone looked.
Beth and I cover different angles. I tend toward power structures — who's making the decisions, who reports to whom, how the pieces connect. She's better at the human side — what it feels like for the family, what the community is going through, the relationships that explain why people act the way they do.
The articles have opinions. The photo essays are curated from thousands of images to find the ones that tell the story. If we cover a story, we try to be the most thorough source on the people involved.
We publish new stories regularly. If you think we should cover something, or if we got something wrong, write us at feedback@peoplefirstnews.com.
